Sorry to break it to you but your father is just wrong. Maybe in his day people would buys books of poems, but they sure don't anymore. You can try to write and sell a book but it should be if it's what YOU want to do, not because it's what he wants, and you shouldn't expect to make any money off it.

@Vista-Sound13 write because you want to, write because you are inspired, write because you want to create something and share it with the world! If you happen to get lucky to become successful and make money, that would be nice and of course I wish you luck with that, but it should not be your primary focus or it will stress you out and kill your creative drive
You are absolutely right! I should do things I love to do because I love to do them! As long as it's not at the expense of others of course.
And to make it my only priority is only going to spoil everything for me, so I should have more foci along with creativity of course because art is the best element of life! :D

Oh no! I'm sorry to hear that, Vista, I admit that I did read your poems... and well, I admit that I dedicated one of those to a special person... Anyway, to the point... I can't suggest anything or give you an opinion on it anymore I'm kind of ignorant of the matter, but I think I agree with @tydaze honestly. Good luck with that! I hope you can find a solution, if you haven't already. <3
