Why, of course! Happy New Year's Day!
Bit of a late response, but I myself got a propane heater (in case I get a power-outage during winter), new slippers, measuring cups, and a retractable eraser.
Those all sound like super boring gifts, but part of it was because I legit had no idea what to put on my wishlist. I wasn't disappointment though, all these gifts are useful to me in some way lol! I just had more fun spending time with my parents during the holidays than I did opening presents.
The propane heater is definitely useful, especially if—like you said—there's a power outage.
Additionally, the fact that you would rather spend Christmas with your family than opening presents definitely says a lot about you: you love your family and aren't selfish. :)
